The Twelve Days of Greenwood!

Ed GreenwoodThe magnificent Ed Greenwood, creator of the Forgotten Realms, is one of the funniest, friendliest, and wisest writers I’ve ever met—and that’s saying something. I’ve edited four of his early novels and have known him for about twenty years. He’s a great writer and a good friend, a perfect subject for an interview. So I sent off twenty-some questions and waited for responses.

Well, as it turned out, Ed’s responses were so insightful, funny, and illuminating that this interview became a set of blog posts—a dozen, to be precise. Starting on February 1, and for eleven days thereafter, this site will host the wonderful musings of the magnificent Ed Greenwood. You’ll be amazed at what you read!

    Robert,

Dude, you rock. I checked out the first few pages of your Merlin material. You have a “voice” that won’t quit. I’ve been reading and writing for many moons. I’m to the point that an author has to have a strong voice for me to spend any time with what he or she is saying. Mental meanderings won’t do for me anymore. You, Sir, ring the bell.

Having read the first bit of Merlin I now know why you can communicate “sensory perception” so well. You understand it from the inside out. Not simply the outside in. So, when the rock moves the reader sees the rock moving. And, best of all believes instantly in Merlin and his powers. Fantastic, the power of a story teller!

I look forward to Ed’s words. And, I’m really glad I found your blog.

Wow, Curtis! Thanks so much. For a guy who’s supposed to have a great voice, I suddenly am at a loss for words. I really appreciate your feedback, and I, too, am really glad you found this site!
